Oh Christmas Card, Oh Christmas Card

That's right, an afternoon post on Halloween about Christmas cards. Let's get real, even though its Halloween, I bet most of you are still dreaming up Christmas wishes in your head. Am I right? I thought so.

Moving on.

For whatever reason, Hubby B and I have never sent out a Christmas card. I've always debated sending one out with an adorable photo of the pups, but it's just never happened.

Now that we've got a handsome little man to show off? You bet your butt I'll be sending out cards this year. And I'm pretty excited about it.

Blog after blog has been doing what I can only assume is an annual post about cards. And I must say, I've been captivated. There are so many wonderful holiday cards out there, but one {yes, one} has had me since the very first look.

{via Tiny Prints}
Don't you just love it? No? Well, I'm using it anyways! Now, I've just got to capture the perfect picture to add to it!

Wondering where you can find this card and others just as wonderful? Look no further. Tiny Prints has almost too many to choose from. In fact, I may just have to get some address labels to go with it. Happy Christmas card shopping, lovelies!

*Disclaimer: Tiny Prints is sending me holiday cards in exchange for this post. However my thoughts and opinions are mine and mine alone.

How Quickly Things Change

I should've known that yesterday's post was just going to be one huge jinx.

That post was written and scheduled on Wednesday. Which meant as you all were reading my redemption story Thursday morning, I was experiencing my final straw with daycare.

You see, they pushed their limits with me Wednesday afternoon when I arrived to a baby who hadn't napped in four hours and had eaten food that wasn't his. Not just food that wasn't his but food that he'd never had before! Maybe I'm being one of those crazy mommas, but that is just not okay with me. What if he was allergic to said food? Worst case scenarios run through my head due to my day job. And all I could think was they're sure not worried about any legal liabilities are they?

But I digress. Let's get back to Thursday.

I arrived to daycare thinking we'd have a fresh start. My morning convo with his teacher went something like this:

Teacher: Do you not have J any diapers or wipes?

Me: No.

Teacher: Did they not tell you? He is completely out of both.

Me: {attempting to keep my calm even though my blood was bubbling} Why no, they didn't tell me or mark it on his sheet that has a place for you all to tell me that he is out of these things.

Teacher: Oh, well he's out of them.
Y'all I almost lost it. Seriously. I had to turn around go the 20-minute drive back home to get diapers and wipes because let's face it, it's just cheaper to spend my time and gas than the 40 bucks Walgreens would want to charge me for diapers.

So, because of yet another mistake daycare made I was an hour late to work yesterday.

Needless to say, we have decided to move daycares. But as all of you moms know, daycare waiting lists are scarier than the Halloween specials playing this weekend. I mean 1 year and you're lucky to get in much less a momma begging to get in today!

After some hardcore searching, we've found one that can get us in within two weeks! It could quite possibly be a miracle. Tonight Hubby B and I will be going to visit J's possible new daycare to see if it meets with standards. Luckily for them, my standards have been altered and at this point I'll take anyone who will love J and not bully me.

This week has been yet another rocky one, but? I'm pretty excited about this weekend. I've got a list of crafts and a photoshoot extravaganza planned for me and J tomorrow!!

Also, before I leave you for the day, I want to thank all of you for your support in my daycare drama. It has been beyond hard on me and without your encouraging words I'm not sure I'd be able to hold it together at all. So, thanks!!

A Redemption of Sorts

I'd planned to share a post today entitled "The Transition," but we're going to shake things up a bit.

You see, that post, was going to go a little something like this:
The week after our daycare drama, I found a note with J's daily stuff that read,"CONGRATULATIONS, your child is ready to transition to the next room!"
This would be exciting for a mom whose child was crawling, or creeping. But sweet Baby J just isn't. The effort is there, but his arm strength just isn't. Immediately, I knew that there was more to this note than the daycare thinking my child was actually ready to move to the next room.
However, being the bigger person, I gave it a chance and J began his transition.
 That was three weeks ago.

Since then, my little guy has graduated from the Infant room to the "Creeper room."

Is he crawling yet? No, no he's not.

Is there a baby in the Infant room that is in fact crawling? Yes, yes there is.

Was I told when we registered at this daycare that your child transitions from the infant room once they learn to crawl? Yes, yes I was.

So, it seems to me that even though J isn't fundamentally ready to be in the creeper room, he's been sent there because the infant room teachers got pissed off mad at his mommy.

I've been thinking to myself that this can't be. People don't actually conduct business that way, especially a daycare that is suppose to be one of the best....right? They wouldn't move a child {who isn't ready} to the next room merely because mommy made the teachers mad.

I assured myself all weekend that they were just encouraging him to crawl and that this was a good thing {which I have decided it still is.}.

However, this morning, I received confirmation that J was indeed not moved due to fundamental reasons but simply because mommy is a biatch. Here's how this played out:

I walked into daycare this morning and ran into Baby E's mom walking out. Baby E is just one day younger than J and they started daycare the same day in June. {sidenote: we didn't know her previous to daycare, but we've been going through this daycare journey together due to their age}.
Baby E's mom: "Did J move to the next room I noticed he wasn't there yesterday?"
Me: "Why yes he did. Has Baby E started to transition yet?"
Baby E's mom: "No. And I asked when she was and they said technically she could, but they wanted to wait until she was really ready."
Me: "Oh."
Baby E's mom: "I can't believe they moved J, because another baby is actually crawling in the infant room!"
Me: "Yes...apparently I made them mad enough to move my child out of that room entirely....I hope E joins us soon so that he's not the only non-crawler in the CRAWLER room!
Can you farking believe that?! I couldn't. But I kept my calm and went on into daycare. I asked J's new teacher if or when Baby E might be joining this room. And her response, well it was the response I needed all along:

Teacher: "You know I'm not sure when Baby E is coming to this room. She was suppose to transition before J, but I'm not sure why she didn't."
Uh, yeah. I KNOW WHY! Because her mom didn't piss off the teachers in the infant room!

This daycare literally moved my child to the next room even when he wasn't fundamentally ready because I made them mad!

Abso-freakin-lutely ridiculous.

The good news is, I had the chance to meet a mom from J's new room this morning as well. And she only had wonderful things to say about that room. So far, the teachers have been so kind to me and unlike the last teachers have followed the feed/nap schedule.

Honestly, I just like knowing I was right all along. I could throw a huge fit and raise some more hell, but we've had enough of that. If these teacher will continue to love J and be kind to me then that's all I can ask for.

WW: Pumpkin Patch Preview

Fun With Our Phones {week 12)

Good Monday morning, lovelies.

We had a pretty busy weekend around these parts. Busy, but nice. The good news is, I have plenty of phone photos to share!

Have phone photos? Post them on your blog, grab our button and add your linky below.
Thanks to everyone linking up with me and Savannah! We love y'all to pieces!

We started the weekend early, with a day at home Friday. It was a perfect day filled with big, big achievements.

See below:

This guy figured out how to sit. All. By. Himself.

He was so determined and finally made it happen during his pre-nap protest. J then proceeded to celebrate for a good 20 minutes...

When Hubby B arrived home from work, we packed up and headed to the mountains for a mini family reunion. I've always thought the mountains are the most soothing environment.

A breath of fresh air, literally.

The trip was rather nice, except for J's exceptionally odd sleeping and napping habits during the course of the weekend.

Expect all kinds of fun photos from the weekend, pumpkin patch adventures included!

Hope y'all had a great one!

Fall Daze

Today we'll be in Hendersonville, NC for a family reunion.

I'm beyond excited to breathe in the mountain air, but less excited to pack {I loathe packing}. On the bright side, this weekend may just be the little break Hubby B and I both need.

There aren't many places I love more than the mountains, especially in the Fall. So, I'm hoping for beautiful weather, good company and many memories.

I'll leave you with some baby lovin' to tide you over for the weekend.

Happy Saturday! Come back on Monday to linkup for Fun with Our Phones!

Wordless Wednesday

When we got our new house there was major hype about showing it off.

But that was three weeks ago, and I've shown you nothing!

You want to see the house, right? Well, trust me, I can't wait to share photos with you! But as it stands, hubby and I both agree it's just not photo-worthy yet.

You're in luck though because Baby J talked me into giving you a sneak peak of the master bedroom...

*You can thank him in the comment section or by clicking {voting} below*

My First Pinteresting Recipe

That was Hubby B's response to my new pinspired recipe.

Yep, you heard right, I finally made one of the recipes I've pinned!

I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty proud of myself. I've been on the Pinterest bandwagon for some time now. In fact, I'm pretty sure I was pinning before you could even jump on the bandwagon.

Anyway...Our household is in need of a kitchen menu overhaul. Unfortunately, this working-mom gig has cut my cooking time in half. Which means my recipe concoctions have come to a dead halt.

I decided to start with this...

Slow Cooker French Dip Sandwiches
*recipe adapted by Jane Deere*
I always rate a meal on Hubby B's reaction. And this meal? Well, it's been categorized under the "Damn" category. Yep, it was that good. The best part, however is not pictured above.

The au jus was out of this world. Om nom nom.

Whatever you do, do not forget to use it for dipping!!

This was a super simple, super scrumptious meal which I highly recommend for those busy weekday dinners.

Because I want to remember

...the way you pucker your lips and stare out the window fighting a nap every day on the way home from daycare.

...the way you've put your head on my shoulder every time I held you for the last four days.

...the way you light up when you set eyes on Daddy.

...the way you sleep on your tummy with your tushy up in the air.

...the way you're loving Baxter and his furry beard.

This, is why I blog. Because I want to remember.

One day when J is old enough to storm off into his room and scream that he hates me, I want to be able to come back to my blog and remember. When I think I'm not a good mom. I can come back here and remember. One day when Baby J is Teenager J, I still want to remember these precious, fleeting baby moments.

Fun With Our Phones {week 11}

Monday always comes too quickly, doesn't it? Well, it sure does around our house.

I must say I'm being optimistic about this week after the train wreck that was my life last week. Let's face it, it couldn't get much worse, so what's there can't be too much to stress over, right?

On second thought...

Let's just talk phone photos...

Have phone photos? Post them on your blog, grab our button and add your linky below.
Thanks to everyone linking up with me and Savannah! We love y'all to pieces!

We made multiple trips to the pediatrician last week. Each time I attempted to snap some photos of the "little dude."  He was in such sad spirits I almost felt bad taking pics of him. But? My real camera's battery had died and up until last night I didn't have a charger for it.

FEDEX got a memo that I'd had a bad week. You see, they so kindly brought me a present Saturday afternoon.

Ahh...it was like opening the front door to a breath of fresh air. LIFE PLANNER!

Sunday rounded out the weekend with a semi-fussy, but much happier baby than in previous days.

Let's just say I'm praying today is in no way a manic monday.

That's pretty much what this week has been for me.

Completely overwhelming in every aspect. No matter where I turned this week I just couldn't catch a break.

If you were around on Monday, then you know the week had a somewhat rocky start. Well...I'm here to tell you, it just got rockier.

Last Friday, we found out our sweet Baby Mill has had a tumor. And so, on Monday, she had surgery. She's officially a "Survivor." Recovery is going great so far.

Wednesday hit me hard when J became pretty sick Tuesday night. We of course, headed to the pediatrician that morning. And? J has an ear infection again. I could scream, y'all. This poor kid always gets ear infections. This is his 3rd in his entire 6 month life.

What does all this mean? It means, that next week we'll be seeing the ENT to talk about tubes. It also meant that I had to miss an entire day of work Wednesday and then Friday? Yeah, we had to go back to the pediatrician because Thursday night J spent hours just screaming in pain. After attempting to sooth him for probably too long, he was finally able to put himself to sleep. Thus, we returned to the pediatrician for a shot of antibiotics.

Oh, and I forgot, when I returned to work on Thursday all hell had broken loose. And those two ladies who were arguing on Monday? Well they had almost  killed each other. EEEE! I mean there were tears and screaming. Rumor is it was awful. While I'm glad I wasn't there, it probably could have been prevented if I had been at work that day.

After all that? Most of our staff somehow ended not working Friday which left just me and one other paralegal for four attorneys {5 if you include the one traveling}. We were overwhelmed with work. It was like drowning in an ocean while someone teased you with a life raft.

I told you, hell.

But today, the little guy is feeling better. We're still in a little pain, but we've come leaps and bounds from Thursday night.

Something exciting? I've got my first Pinterest inspired recipe in the works and I had a brilliant idea for Baby J's halloween/Fall photos. Oh, and my Erin Condren life planner arrived today!!!

Happy Saturday lovelies!

Quite a Day

The work day is over and now I can find some sanity.

My day? It consisted of two very PMSing moody coworkers. Someone forgot to give me the warning before work, but don't worry I found out fast. You know, like when they were standing over my head arguing.

But in all that gloom I had a bright day. Want to know why? Erin Condren is everywhere {again}.

AP at I love you more than carrots and Jennifer at Life in the Green House are both having EC giveaways! I'm currently impatiently awaiting my very own Life Planner in the mail!! YAY!

And guess what else?! I hear that Erin Condren will be featured tomorrow over at One Kings Lane. Possibilities of $25 and/or $50 vouchers....click here to sign up!

Also? Could you spare a click/vote for me on this manic Monday?

I'm not going to lie, I am so exhausted that I can't even spare the energy to find a cord to upload photos.

So, you're going to get a couple oldies from the iPhone.

See below...

This is Baby J back when he was only a month old.  I'll never forget this sweet moment when he snuggled up to nap with me.

That seems like such a long time ago when you look at this big sleeping boy...
I could watch this kid sleep all night....if I didn't need to catch up on some sleep myself!

Happy Monday lovelies!

Dear 13 year-old self...

Today you turn 24.

Looking back on year 23, it looks like life is playing out just as you always pictured.

Currently, you have a husband who loves you to the moon and back, a baby boy who is a precious as can be, two amazingly frustrating lovable pups. And? You're even a homeowner.

Yep, in the grand scheme of things, life is pretty amazing.

But 16 year-old self sits and stares at us in disappointment. You see, that girl had dreams of living in a big city and she certainly had no desire to be back in her hometown after college. Nope. That girl, she longed for bustling streets and skyscrapers. What a silly, silly girl. If only she knew how fullfilling this life is...

Just know...

The things you stress over in high school, college and even today are miniscule. Remember to take a step back sometimes and see how blessed you are. You have a family that while overbearing, is one-of-a-kind and loves you more than you can imagine. Although your mom may seem to be all in your business now, at the ripe age of 18, you'll realize she's your best friend.

That boy you think is the love of your life, isn't. He'll realize that when you're 17, but it will take you well into year 18 to come to terms with it. And unfortunately there is more heartache after that. But the good news is that Mr. Right {Hubby B} will swoop in when you least expect it and prove to you that love is all about timing, dedication and forgiveness.

The jobs you dream of having will change with the seasons. And the one you currently have is pretty freakin' sweet. No you aren't some big-time magazine editor {just the editor of this lil blog}, but that's okay. Because every day you go to work and the people there love you. They accept you. They teach you and they learn with you. When motherhood gets hard they are understanding. They are family and even though its not Marie Claire, it's perfect.

And that baby?

Yep, that one.

He will change you in ways you can't even imagine now. Thirteen-year-old self, I know you want kids, but at 18 you'll find out you can't have them. At 22, God will slap your doctor in the face and bless you with a baby. And this little thing called motherhood? Well, let's just say it leaves you speechless.You'd do anything for this nugget who in the right light looks just like you {but more like your husband}

Cherish these moments. Savor each second of your years.

Thirteen-year-old self, we've officially reached "mid-twenties." And as it currently stands the outlook is bright.

{semi} Wordless Wednesday

Our sole bit of entertainment at work this week has been these videos.

Yes, we have spent two full business days replaying these videos and dying laughing.  What can I say... the leagl field gets rather boring at times. And? This is just freakin' hilarious.

Okay, okay. I know what you're thinking...Old news, we all saw Teresa go nuts how many seasons ago? A long time!

But have you seen this parody done by the cast of a new Bravo show?

Um, yeah. It's worth your time. I promise.

Happy hump day!
*disclaimer: I am not a fan of Mad Fashion. However, this parody is too funny not to share*

That's how many thoughts I have running through my head lately.

I have a million posts to share with y'all, but the words just aren't coming together. And? I blame it on my mommy brain. So, rather than giving you an eloquently written post, you're just going to get a cluster of everything.

First off, today is my best friend's birthday! While I'm excited for her, it also means my birthday is only two days away! That's right, I said it.

I may or may not have ordered my Erin Condren Life Planner as a little present just for me. {YAY} I owe this purchase to Erin from Blue Eyed Bride and Nina from According to Nina. Without the gift card I won from their giveaway, I'm not sure I would've bit the bullet and bought the planner. So, thanks girls!

Need a daycare update? Of course you do! Last Friday before walking out the daycare door, they handed me a slip that read, "CONGRATULATIONS! Your child is ready to transition to the next room."  Um, yeah, expect an entire post on this later in the week.

With the madness of moving the past couple weeks, you may have missed that Baby J turned 6 months old Sept 23. I've never posted a "monthly update" for him on here, but I'm toying with the idea of beginning to do so. I love the idea of doing something like this. I've seen similar ones being pinned all over Pinterest.

Have I mentioned my birthday is on Thursday?

Remember me saying my in-laws are coming in town this weekend? Do they not realize it's my BIRTHDAY! Nope, they didn't. And yes, they are still coming. Expect an entire post on this later in the week as well.

See, I told you I have all kinds of things to share with you but they're all jumbled in my head.
Did you stick with me, or did I lose you at Erin Condren?

Ever have days where the thousands of ideas in your head come crashing into one big jumble-eff? If so, spare a vote for an overwhelmed momma. Please and thank you!
