Unmentioned {mini} Milestone

A few weeks ago, J was fussy beyond belief. He didn't want his bottle or his puréed food. I tried everything: warm bottle, big bottle, small bottle, sippy cup, sweet potatoes, pears, apples.

Nada. Nothing. Zilch.

For me, this meant he was ready for bigger and yummier things.

You know what I'm talking about. He was ready for puffs.

This, lovely readers, was our first "table food."

And this guy? He loves 'em.

As the weeks have progressed he's become a pro. Rarely will you find puffs hiding under his fingers, caked to his face or creviced between one of those cute chunky thighs. I must say, this little dude has some pretty good coordination.

Here's what I'm wondering though...what was the next introductory "table food" you gave your kiddo?

  1. bananas in that little net thing, and the little cookies that the same company who makes the puffs makes. Sydney loved those puffs and we took them everywhere!!!

  2. Bananas, avocado, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. Now Natalie is to the point where I just give her bits of our meal - pieces of pasta with just a little sauce for example.

  3. We pretty much give E anything at all. I think her first food after puffs was scrambled eggs (our ped says as long as I cook them at home it is fine) with avocado mixed in and she tore it up. She has gotten really good at chewing and will eat just about anything.

  4. Oh Nolan loves puffs! He's just now not liking them as much. I think I cut up small pieces of fruit/veggie once we got past the puffs.

  10. Our little girl who is 18 mths still loves puffs. One little snack food that she also loved was the yogurt melts. Mashed potatoes and some mashed fruits and vegetables she loves (apples, sweet potatoes, applesauce) and bananas mashed up are usually pretty easy to get them to eat.
