It's A Love Story

In the spirit of Valentine's Day and the fact that my hubs cleaned the house yesterday, I thought today would be perfect for linking up with Becky to share a bit of our story...

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
As of January 16th, 2012 we've known each other for six years. On April 20, 2012 we'll have been dating for six years. August 4, 2012 married for four. It's no easy thang being with one person this long, but it's worth it :)

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
Our story? Well, now that you ask...we met through a boy I had a crush on. Really though the boy I had a crush on introduced me to his sister who managed to become my best friend. She's actually the one I have to thank for introducing me to the hubs.

You see, I went to help her move from SC to TN and we stopped in her hometown to visit family, who in turn dragged us to church much too hungover one morning. That morning at church, I met B's mom and sister, old friends of hers. They gave her B's number and said he lived not too far away attending college.

This friend of mine was a bit spontaneous and she called him up and drove us out there for a party he was having that night. January 16, 2006. The night I met my future husband. We've pretty much been together since that night. True story.
Just a couple of naive kids.
3. If married, how long have you been married?
Three years, Five months and who's counting days...

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?

We were married at my favorite place in the world. Yes, the world. It's known as Pretty Place
Our wedding was big and small. My family is huge, so it was inevitable. But a big family left little room for too many friends. So it was small in those terms. Make sense?

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
We have a million nicknames. Around our house, almost every word becomes a nickname. Poor J is going to be in school saying everything in the weird lingo B and I use. For example, dooder. I kid you not. On a more normal level though, I've always called B boo

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.

His eyes.
His patience.
His never-ending love.

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
Let's just say those are two different things. B did good, but it wasn't your Hollywood concocted tale. More like a nervous guy, a night at home and a yes

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberrieschampagne, and rose petals?

All of the above? Depends on the year, my mood and our budget.

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?

Movie and couch. Do you not know me at all?!

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?

Italy. For months on end. Easiest question ever.

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.

Honestly, we can't decide. The options? A couples massage and that's all. Or...? Dinner and a movie possibly. Flowers? They're usually involved too.

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
Nope. Not unless getting a babysitter for a few hours counts.

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.

Every night, before you go to sleep, tell each other one reason you love the other. Oh and always go to bed together. {yes I write this on the rare night I sent B to bed without me}

14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.

My boys are my world and I wouldn't have it any other way.
